Two years ago in the 2007 Southern California Grand Prix, Ryan beat Aaron Peirsol quite easily in the 200y back. Their times were 1:40.99 and 1:42.02 respectively. This was 2 months before Ryan defeated Aaron in the world championships in Melbourne. Even though Ryan ultimately won the long course race, I think this shows that Ryan is the superior short course swimmer.

And next Saturday, though there will be no Aaron Peirsol, Ryan will leave the rest of the 200y back competitors in the dust at the 2009 Southern California Grand Prix. :)
So true, although it would be fun to watch Ryan and Aaron race in short course. I wonder if any of the younger guys (Clary, Tullius or Thoman) will be there.
