Ryan swam the 400 IM! He finished first in the prelims in that event and also first in the 200 free.
Hope his injured knee held up OK. Here are the prelim results:

Interestingly, Ryan's time in the finals of the 400 IM at the 2009 Santa Clara GP was 4:18.62. It's an interesting comparison because last year's Santa Clara GP was held 3 weeks before Nationals just like this weekend's meet. I don't know if Ryan swam the 400 IM in tonight's finals (I doubt it) but it would be interesting to see if he could get closer to 4:18.
I'm also watching with interest the results of the Los Angeles Grand Prix and will report some results from that meet as well.
